Who am I?
O, what a question, in which the answer could probably fill enough books to fill an entire library.
Name: Hannah Simmer
Birthday: December 24, 1989
4 children – 2 stepsons, 1 daughter, 1 bun in the oven
California Girl at Heart, currently stuck half-time in Washington State.
I write, I read, I sing, I cook, I create.
I am an ADD human.
I love Jesus, my husband, my children, and my chosen family.
I grew up in a two parent household, with two younger siblings.
I was adopted at birth, as were my two siblings. My younger sister is not biologically related to me, however my younger brother, the youngest of us all, is biologically my half brother through our biological mother.
I grew up in a Christian home, I chose to follow Jesus when I was 5 years old, and have found a new love for Him in my recent years.
I got pregnant my senior year of high school, earned my dipoloma, and gave birth to Bella Christine who was adopted by two wonderful parents and two older sisters.
On December 29, 2010, I miscarried a baby with the man who would become my husband less than 4 years later.
In April 2011, I got pregnant with my daughter Julianne, and began a three and a half year battle with her biological father that would test me in every way possible.
In April 2014, I married the man of my dreams. He is a father to two incredible boys, is adopting my beautiful daughter, and we have a little one on the way.
So no – I am far from perfect. My past is not an example of a woman who has had her life together from the start. I was a hurting person, who made decisions based on painful emotions rather than on what I knew to be right and wrong.
But I am here, and I am sharing my story, and my life, because I believe in God’s redemption and healing in my life, and hope to share that same thing with others. At the very least, I hope to bring a smile to some faces, and hope to create a village for those of us who feel alone.
